Open Dag.
Today was open day at the WdKA. The fine artists all came together and created an interactive performance piece in which the exchange students have one on one's with a single audience member and create a connection. It's was literally an exchange because we give them a drawing and the audience gives us an object to draw, a drawing, a description of the object, or just a conversation. It turned out really well because most of the visitors were art students checking out the uni (or college) and it became a simultaneous drawing session. The day before was a little stressful though because the teachers were trying to solve the "holes" in our project which felt as though they were just trying to make it harder than it should have been. Either way though, it's done. It happened.
I just can't get over how bad the free sandwich they sold of the cheese, mayo, lettuce, tomato, and cucumbers. It was 99% bread though and really stale. They're so serious about there "lunch cards" and "hot drink coins". We had a lot of students working and didn't account for the amount that needed lunches and drinks. I was one of the students shit out of luck with a lunch card and so I came up to the guy handing out the lunches. Let's just say they're really stubborn with their lunch cards. I also went to ask "the other side" of the building which consists of the designers and the lady screamed in my face, "WHO ARE YOU WORKING FOR? WHAT SIDE ARE YOU ON? THEY CAME IN AN ENVELOPE FOR EVERYONE!"
I did end up getting a lunch but after all that and what they gave us, it was not satisfying at all.
I went home immediately after the open day. It was tiring. Later on, we went to the cinema! We watched The Grand Budapest Hotel. It was really good! It was also all in English (but the dutch subtitles were distracting). It was funnier than I thought it was going to be. All the scenes were very clean cut.
Afterwards, I decided to just go home with Beatrice instead of going out to the bars. I've spent a lot of money lately. I also bought my plane tickets to London!
