Lost and not found.

I am so dumb. I am pretty sure I put my phone in my back pocket or something and while I was bike riding, it fell out of my pocket? I feel like I wouldn't leave it in my pocket? But who knows. It's lost. Someone else has it. I'm really hoping that its in the studio or something but I really doubt it. Yay, Happy Valentines day. After I figured out that my phone was gone, I went back out in the pouring rain and retraced my steps to the studio. I never realized how far it was. It was so windy that I couldn't use my umbrella without inverting it. Soaked as a mf. It was terrible. I guess, on the bright side, it could have been worse. I could have lost my laptop or camera.

A couple hours later, I had definitely accepted the fact that my phone was long gone and in someone else's hands. We also had a party to get to. It was a house party of Marina and Nateish's Dutch friend. It was like a three floor apartment. It was actually really big and the stairs were basically vertical (not really but kind of). Wow, my first Dutch house party. You know what was great though? They made a profit from the beers that they had. 1 Euro for a beer. They probably made so much money. The place was packed. It was full of all different kinds of people. Old people and young people. Apparently, eight policemen showed up but then just left? I wasn't there. Maggie and I decided to bike there which obviously took a long time because we got lost. It was the first time I had ridden my bike in Rotterdam at night. It was really nice though. Really quiet. Maggie was in front of me so she couldn't see how much I was enjoying the bike ride.

After a lot of wine, beer, and small talk, Maggie and I decided to go home. Especially, because I don't think one of our friends wanted to be there anymore. We rode home and stopped by McDonalds for fries because you can't go by McDonalds intoxicated and not go in. Let's be real. After we got home, I just went to bed. It was around three or four in the morning.

I never realized how difficult it really is functioning without a phone after becoming so dependent on it. For example, today I made plans with Alex to go to the market at 9:30am sharp. I tried to find an alarm on my cheap prepaid Dutch phone that still has the standard key pad for texting. I couldn't find it and woke up around 11:30am. Luckily, Alex messed around on my Dutch phone and found it so I will be able to wake up in time for the train ride to Brussels.

YUP, BRUSSELS. We decided to take a trip to Brussels, Belgium tomorrow until Tuesday morning. I am really excited. Alex came by today so we could book our reservations in a hostel by the center. Jess, Marina, and Nateish are coming as well. The hostel looks really nice. I'm hoping it will look like the pictures when we arrive.

Side note, everyone needs to try a stroepwaffel if they come into the country. It's like two waffle cookies with caramel sauce in the middle. I had a warm one today and it's huge. Definitely a two person portion. The sugar was really overwhelming after half of it. I couldn't finish it so I gave the rest to Marina.

Another side note, until a back up phone arrives, I probably won't be able to post up quick pictures of my daily adventures because I don't have a phone. I will be bringing my dslr with me but hopefully nothing happens to it. Fingers crossed.

Goodnight!
